The End of Summer

My beach bum days are over for another year.  (sigh)

It’s time to put the kayak under the deck where it will stay protected until next spring.

Today I’ll put the beach towels and deck furniture in storage for the winter.

I have to replace my flip flops and summer garb with warm hoodies and winter boots.

I had a great summer and I’m looking forward to many more.

I hope you did too.

  1. Ahh… sounds like nice days you’ve spent. It’s definitely changing seasons in Scotland. Have had to de-ice the car the last few days… hope that’s not a sign of things to come!

  2. a sad day then the flip/flops retire for the season!

It was a wet summer here in UK, but still managed to enjoy it. Sounds like yours was great 😉

  4. You Easterners are making me feel the cold winds heading my way.

  5. We should be coming into summer here in Australia – but it’s been snowing the last two days! 😦

  6. I won’t like this post
    for the simple reason
    I don’t like it when
    the summer ends

    Flip-flops and painted nails
stay with me even if the sun
    hides between cotton socks
    and fluffy blankets

    Because winter doesn’t
    hold the charm of love
    neither the dance of snow
can swirl hope in the cold night …
